Feb 24, 2021 | Women's Volleyball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After inclement weather postponed last week's matches between Memphis and Tulsa, the Tigers and Golden Hurricane are set to square off Thursday at 4 p.m. and Friday at 1 p.m. at the Larry O. Finch Center.
Thursday night will be the first matchup between the two programs since Nov. 8, 2019, a 3-1 win for Tulsa. Six players on the current roster for the Tigers appeared in that matchup, including Gigi Crescenzo, who nearly posted a double-double with nine kills and 11 digs in the loss. The Golden Hurricane have taken each of the last three matches against Memphis, as the last Tigers win in the series was on the road, Nov. 19, 2017. Tulsa holds a 17-13 edge in the all-time series.
The Tigers will have been off the court for live game action for nearly two weeks by the time Thursday's match gets underway. Memphis was swept on the road against Tulane last time out. The Green Wave won the opening match 3-1 and capped off the weekend sweep with a 3-0 victory over the Tigers. Memphis picked up the opening set of the weekend but saw the Green Wave rattle off six consecutive set victories.
