Tigers Climb in United Soccer Coaches and TopDrawerSoccer Rankings

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – With sole control of the American Athletic Conference with back-to-back wins over Tulsa and Cincinnati, the Tigers have found themselves at No. 15 in the TopDrawerSoccer rankings and No. 14 in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll for the week of Oct. 11.
After a shutout win at Tulsa, the Tigers faced a challenge against Cincinnati at home; the Bearcats gained an early lead on Memphis after a goal from Vanessa DiNardo in the 15' of play. Saorla Miller would score the game-tying goal in the 49' to get the Tigers back into the game while Tanya Boychuk, who also had the game-winning goal against Tulsa, netted her sixth goal of the season in the 83' off a rebound from the head of a Cincinnati defender.
Sunday's win over the Bearcats secured the Tigers control of the AAC after SMU took down South Florida and Houston fell in double overtime to East Carolina. Memphis remains as the only undefeated team in the American Athletic Conference this season.
No. 14 Memphis (10-1-1, 4-0-0 AAC) will be back in action on Sunday, October 17 against South Florida. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Track & Soccer Complex.
