Memphis set for midweek matchup at No. 9 Ole Miss

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Riding a seven-game winning streak, Memphis baseball hits the road for a midweek matchup at No. 9 Ole Miss on Tuesday with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday's game marks the first of nine straight on the road as the Tigers play 12 of their next 13 games away from home.
In their last outing, the Tigers turned in a record weekend with a sweep of Western Illinois. Memphis scored 55 runs in the three games, the second-most run production in a three-game series in program history (59 at Dayton in 1994). The Tigers totaled 23 hits on Sunday, which rank fifth in single-game history. It was also the first time Memphis had 23 hits in a game since 2012 (at Houston).
Individually, sophomore Hunter Goodman earned National Player of the Week and American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors. The Arlington, Tenn., native drove in 22 RBI, including a program-record 11 on Sunday. Goodman also hit a grand slam on all three days.
A pair of freshman produced career days against the Leathernecks on Sunday. Taylor Howell hit for the cycle on Sunday and posted career highs in hits (4), runs scored (4) and RBI (2) and recorded his first collegiate home run on Sunday.
Classmate Austin Baskin recorded career highs in hits (4), runs scored (4), RBI (3) and home runs (2) on Sunday. His two home runs Sunday were also his first collegiate homers of his career.
The Rebels also carry a win streak into the midweek contest, having won 10 consecutive games. Ole Miss leads the all-time series with a 39-60 mark.
