Baseball continues homestand with Central Arkansas on Tuesday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Fresh off its weekend sweep of Dayton, Memphis baseball returns to the diamond on Tuesday for its first home midweek contest of 2020. The Tigers host Central Arkansas with a first pitch slated for 4 p.m. at FedExPark.

After dropping the first midweek game of the season at Central Arkansas last Wednesday, the Tigers responded with a three-game sweep of Dayton over the weekend.
Junior Ben Brooks continued his strong start to the 2020 campaign last week. The shortstop tallied a pair of home runs and seven RBI to help Memphis to a 3-1 record over the four-game stretch. Dating back to the 2019 season finale, all four of Brooks' career homers have come in the last eight games.
Junior Ian Bibiloni broke out in the final two games of the Dayton series. The Lakeland, Tenn., native went 4-for-7 with a homer, two doubles and three runs scored on Saturday and Sunday to help Memphis complete the sweep of the Flyers.
The Tigers' pitching staff collectively turned in a strong weekend against the Flyers. As a staff, Memphis posted a 0.82 ERA alongside 37 strikeouts in the last four games to lower its season ERA to 2.10.
UCA visits Memphis after dropping two of three at Southern Miss over the weekend. The Bears offense is led by Beau Orlando (.455) and Connor Emmet (.407). Ben Ayala has posted two home runs this season along with six RBI.
Following the midweek matchup, Memphis will cap its seven-game homestand with a three-game series against Western Illinois at FedExPark.
