Wallace, Bianco post career-highs in the victory.

CHARLESTON, Ill. – University of Memphis sophomore Meredith Wallace downed a career-high 18 kills and sophomore transfer Sabrina Bianco handed out a career-high 46 assists to lead the Tigers to a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over Drake Friday afternoon. The match was the season opener for both squads.

Memphis dropped the opening set 25-18, but battled back to take the next three by scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-20 to defeat the Bulldogs.

Up Next
The Tigers have a quick turnaround and play South Dakota State at 3 p.m. (CT). Memphis is playing in the EIU Panther Invitational presented by Holiday Inn Express. Eastern Illinois is the host school for the two-day tournament.

"The team was anxious to get the first match under its belt. They had a few nerves in the first set, but I'm really proud of how they settled themselves down and were able to get into a groove.

"Sabrina set a balanced attack that allowed out hitters to get good clean looks, but it all starts with our first contact. We had great energy from the entire team."

Meredith Wallace's career-high 18 kills nearly doubled her previous best of 10 kills vs. Louisiana Monroe last season.
Meredith Wallace also collected nine digs and just missed recording the first double-double performance of her career.
Sabrina Bianco's career-high 46 assists surpassed her previous high of 42 helpers last season. Bianco, who transferred to Memphis from New Mexico in the off-season, had 42 assists vs. North Florida in 2018.
Sabrina Bianco's 46-assists performance was the second 40-assists match of her career.
Hannah Flowers had 13 kills for her 36^thcareer double-figures kills match.
