MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis volleyball team (5-6) swept Little Rock (6-6) on Saturday afternoon inside Elma Roane Fieldhouse to close out the Rumble at Roane.

Senior libero Abigail Schlueter made program history during the victory, climbing into the top 10 on Memphis' all-time career digs list with 1,326.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the opening set, Memphis jumped out to an early 7-2 run before Little Rock answered with a 4-0 spurt to pull within one. The Tigers and Trojans went point-for-point until Avery Fearnley sparked a 5-0 run for Little Rock, but back-to-back kills from Caitlyn Little sealed the set for Memphis, 25-20.

The second set featured tight play early until an Amanda Hardt kill sparked a 3-0 Memphis run. Despite defensive pushes from Fearnley and Bella Cherry for the Trojans, subsequent 6-0 and 4-0 runs from Memphis propelled the Tigers to a dominant 25-12 set win.

Little Rock opened the third set with a 5-3 lead before a Trojan service error ignited a 5-0 Memphis run. Kills from Little and Dawn Moore, alongside a block by Zaniah Hoskins and Arianna Mongare, put Memphis ahead 8-6. After trading points, Little carried the momentum with a 3-0 run to extend the advantage to 16-11. Little Rock rallied with two separate runs late, but a final 4-0 surge guided Memphis to the 25-21 set win and match sweep.

NOTABLES

This marks the first time Memphis has recorded consecutive sweeps since 2024, when the Tigers defeated Jackson State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Abigail Schlueter made history by climbing in the top ten all-time in digs in Memphis history.
- The senior recorded a team-high of 10 digs during the contest.
Caitlyn Little led the offense with 17 kills and 18 points.
- Little put up a .593 hitting percentage during the win.
Sydney Marshall dished out 30 assists.
- The junior has put up 30 plus assists in all three matches this week as well as seven times this season.
Kaylee Parker recorded a team-high of three blocks.
Arianna Mongare was the only Tiger to put up a solo block in today's win.
