Men's golf in fifth place entering final round of Mason Rudolph Championship

Bawden leads Tigers with 2-under 69; Jackson shoots even-par 71 in second-round play
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team shot 2-over 286 Saturday in the second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club and will enter Sunday's final round in fifth place, eight strokes behind leader, and host, Vanderbilt.

The Commodores, the nation's fourth-ranked team, fired a 15-under 269 Saturday to move up nine spots and into the lead, four strokes better than 20th-ranked Tennessee.

The Tigers were led by Bradley Bawden. He shot a 2-under 69 for a two-day total of 136, a total of 6-under par that puts him in a tie for fifth individually. Marquette's Austin Kendziorski, playing as an individual, is the second-round leader at 10-under 132 following a pair of 66s.

Bawden is the only Tiger with two rounds in the 60s after 36 holes. He was 1-over through 12 holes Saturday, but birdied three of his final six holes.

Nick Giles, who opened with a 67, shot 73 Saturday for a total of 2-under 140. Isaiah Jackson and Borja Martin both fired even-par 71s Saturday. Jackson is at 145 and Martin at 146. Chase Harris shot 73 and is at 1-over 143.
