Tigers welcome Tulane for league weekend series beginning Friday

Series schedule adjusted with anticipated inclement weather Thursday
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After a non-conference meeting at No. 11 Ole Miss earlier this week, the Tigers resume their weekend league slate against Tulane at FedExPark. With inclement weather anticipated in the Memphis area on Thursday, the series will begin with one game Friday afternoon and feature a doubleheader on Saturday.

Memphis dropped a 5-2 contest at Ole Miss in its last outing. Offensively, freshman Hunter Goodman posted his sixth home run of the season. Sophomore Ben Brooks collected his sixth double of the season and 11th RBI in the leadoff spot.
Goodman, who was named to The American's Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, seeks to carry his offensive momentum against the Green Wave. Goodman hit .538 (7-for-13) in the Tigers' three-game set at UConn last weekend. His six homers this season have all come in the last 11 games, while his 41 RBI rank third in The American.
On the mound, the Tigers enjoyed their best weekend of the season against UConn despite the series setback. The pitching staff collectively posted a 1.44 ERA in the three games, allowing just four earned runs throughout the weekend and struck out 19 batters. Memphis' 10.2 strikeouts per nine innings this season ranks 10th nationally.
Tulane had a six-game win streak snapped at New Orleans on Tuesday evening. The Green Wave have won their previous five weekend series, dating back to Mar. 10.
The Green Wave roster features the nation's leading home run hitter in Kody Hoese. The junior has belted 19 home runs, while his 46 RBI leads the conference and ranks 17th nationally.
The Green Wave lead the all-time series by a 57-41 margin. The Tigers are in search of their first series win since 2010.
