Tigers travel to SEMO for midweek tilt

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – In its final game before conference play begins, Memphis baseball will face a familiar foe Tuesday night as the Tigers travel to Southeast Missouri State.

The Tigers return to the road for the first time since their series sweep at WKU earlier this month. Most recently, the Tigers claimed their weekend series against UNCW. Despite dropping the series opener, the Tigers took wins on Saturday and Sunday for their third straight series win.
Hunter Goodman continued to produce at the plate behind a .429 weekend. The rookie tallied eight RBI on the weekend, including four in Sunday's series-clinching win. As a team, the Tiger offense has raised its batting average from .223 to .345 over the last seven games.
On the mound, Memphis pitching ranks 12th nationally in strikeouts per nine innings (10.7) and is 16th in the country in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.2). The Tiger staff added 31 strikeouts this weekend to its season total of 192.
The Tigers are 28-19 against SEMO since 1985 and have claimed wins in the last four meetings.
