Tigers return to FedExPark for series against Middle Tennessee

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Back at home to begin the month of March, Memphis baseball will host a three-game set against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders this weekend at FedExPark. First pitch on Friday is slated for 4 p.m.

In its first road game of the season, Memphis (2-5) dropped an early lead and fell at No. 12 Arkansas by a final of 10-3 on Wednesday. Senior Jason Santana sparked the Tiger offense behind a 2-for-3 outing with a home run and 2 RBIs.
Middle Tennessee (4-4) began the season taking two of three against Bowling Green. The Blue Raiders faced a condensed slate last weekend due to weather. After a 3-2 setback against Northern Illinois to open its annual Mule Mix Classic, the Blue Raiders split a Sunday doubleheader against Bradley. In midweek action, Middle Tennessee beat Tennessee Tech on Tuesday before dropping a game at Tennessee on Wednesday.
Nick Carnevale paces the Blue Raider offense, hitting at a .345 clip. Four Raiders lead the way in the RBI department with four apiece, while Aaron Antonini and Myles Christian have each hit one home run in the young season.
Middle Tennessee leads the all-time series at a 49-47 ledger, although the Tigers took two of three meetings last season.
