Road trip begins a swing of eight-straight games away from Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team visits the Pirates of ECU for an American Athletic Conference matchup this weekend. This series is the first of back-to-back road weekends for Memphis. Game one of the weekend series is slated for Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. CT.

Memphis will enter the weekend with a 27-10 (3-3 AAC) record after defeating Belmont on Wednesday, continuing to add to its historic start.
Kyler Trosclair Klatt is batting .438 while placing first on the team and third in the country in total hits with 56.
Trosclair Klatt picked up her 30^th and 31^st RBIs of the season against Belmont, which is good enough for 10^th all-time for runs batted in for a single season.
After picking up the win on Wednesday, Molly Smith improves to 16-4. Her 16 wins to date stand as the third most in a season for a Memphis pitcher. Her season count of 159 strikeouts is also fifth best on the all-time season charts.
As a team, Memphis is batting .328 with an on-base percentage of .401. Conversely, Tiger pitchers are holding opposing bats to a .208 average and are allowing just a 1.89 ERA.
Memphis freshmen made the first three hits and scored the first two runs against Belmont. For the year, Tiger freshmen bat a collective .387, and pitcher Mariah Nichols stands at 10-5 with a 2.10 ERA.
With six stolen bases against the Bruins, the Tigers maintained their status as the best in the American when it comes to stealing bases. Memphis averages 1.89 swipes per game, and are led by freshman Delaney Smith's 26 stolen bases.
Memphis is 11-22 all-time against the Pirates, but has been the winner of four of the last six outings.

ECU hosts Memphis with a 15-22 (1-5 AAC) record after dropping its non-conference game against Campbell on Tuesday.
ECU enters the weekend 7-8 at home, including a win over conference foe Houston in eight innings.

Meredith Burroughs and Tate McClellan have a combined 18 homeruns of the team's 27 bombs.
ECU's primary starting pitchers, Erin Poepping and Whitney Sanford, are both freshmen, and are numbers one and two in innings pitched, respectively, with 108.1 tossed by Poepping, and 76.0 by Sanford.
