Tigers Fall To USF Friday

Delaney Smith extends on-base streak to a team-high 13 games
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team will look to salvage the series Saturday morning against USF after falling to the Bulls by a score of 4-0 Friday afternoon. The Tigers fall to 25-10 on the year and 2-3 in American Athletic Conference action.
USF took the early lead with two outs in the top of the first on a two-run home run to center field. Memphis threatened offensively in the bottom of the third inning by loading the bases, but a strikeout ended the Tigers chances at putting a run on the board.
The Bulls added an insurance run in the top half of the fourth on a bloop single to left field. Memphis had a base runner reach in the bottom of the fifth, but was stranded at first base.
Mariah Nichols pitched the complete game for Memphis in the circle and drops to 10-5 on the year.
