Memphis returns home to play SMU for the first time this season
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team will host SMU this Saturday with a 2 p.m. contest at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. This is the first and only regular season contest between the teams this year.

After being on the road for the past two games, Memphis looks to regroup and refresh with a game in front of its home fans. After dropping a close one against Houston, Memphis aims to win its sixth game at this home this season by welcoming SMU to the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

Freshmen Jada Stinson and Alana Davis put together solid outings against Houston. Stinson finished with 13 points and three assists, while Davis ended the night with 13 points and 11 rebounds for her second career double-double. A Look At SMU
SMU visits Memphis with a 9-15 overall record and 3-8 American Athletic Conference mark. The Mustangs are coming off of a 74-70 victory over American foe Tulsa on Wednesday. SMU has shown struggles on the road this season, failing to have won a single road contest so far.

SMU is led by McKenzie Adams' 17.5 points per game this season. Kiara Perry is the only other Mustang to average double figures in scoring at 10.1 points per game. Perry and Dai'ja Thomas lead the team in rebounding, each grabbing 6.9 rebounds per contest.

As a team, the Mustangs are averaging slightly over 57 points per game, and have done well in rebounding margin. SMU does, however, struggle shooting the three-pointer, only averaging 3.7 made three-pointers per game at a 28 percent clip.

Travis Mays is the head coach of the Mustangs and is currently in his second season at the helm. His first season showed marked improvement from the year before his hiring, winning six more games in his first season than the year prior. In conference play, SMU currently sits in ninth place.
