Program-Record 12 Softball Players Earn NFCA Academic Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Memphis softball team had a program-record 12 members of the 2018 squad earn National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors. Memphis was also recognized as an NFCA Academic Team.

With a team GPA of 3.36, Memphis ranked 66th on the 2017-18 Easton/NFCA Division I All-Academic Team list.

Sara Ann Davidson, Tori Harris, Tyler Johnson, Jessica Lamb, Brooke Lee, Kendall Lee, Rebeca Melton, Christian Novak, Molly Smith, Ashton Stowe, Ashley Threatt, and Kyler Trosclair Klatt were all named to the scholar-athlete list.

Memphis had the second-most scholar-athletes in the American Athletic Conference behind Houston (13).

Individually, 6,280 softball players across seven membership divisions earned Easton / NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2017-18. NCAA Division I student-athletes accounted for 1,311 honorees.
