Tigers close strong, finish fourth at the Quail Valley Intercollegiate

Memphis foursome shoots par or better led by Isaiah Jackson's 68
VERO BEACH, Fla. – The University of Memphis posted its second Top 5 finish of the fall season Tuesday at the Quail Valley Intercollegiate behind a foursome that each shot par or better.
The Tigers shot 8-under 280 behind strong performances from Chase Harris, Isaiah Jackson, Bradley Bawden and Rodi Vlasveld. Memphis shot 4-under 860 for the 54-hole event to finish fourth. Champion North Florida shot 30-under 834, followed by USF (835) and Arkansas State (838).
Memphis made one of the day's biggest jumps, climbing from ninth to fourth.
For the Tigers, Harris posted the group's low round – a 4-under 68 – to close at 2-over 218. Jackson fired a 3-under 69 to finish at 8-under 208.
Jackson's three rounds, all under par, allowed him to finish in a tie for fifth, his best result of the fall.
Also contributing were Bawden (71 for 215) and Vlasveld (72 for 219). Bawden finished in a tie for 25th.
Travis Trace of North Florida was the medalist at 13-under 203, three strokes better than runner-up Blake Elliott of McNeese State.
The Tigers take two weeks off before playing their final fall event, the Kiawah Classic Nov. 4-6 at Kiawah Island, S.C.
