Memphis to play UT Martin at USA Stadium in Millington
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis will play host to UT Martin on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at USA Stadium in Millington, Tenn., in the W.S. 'Babe' Howard Classic. The game is designed to honor the integral figure in the history of baseball in the Mid-South as well as the City of Millington's long military history.
As part of the festivities surrounding the game, Memphis will be honoring all those who serve and have served our country with the Tigers' annual Military Appreciation Game. General Admission tickets are $5 for all fans but any military personnel will receive free admission with their military ID.

The city of Millington has a long military history and the pregame ceremonies will feature some of the personnel from the local naval base. The Stars and Stripes will be displayed in grand fashion with a large flag of the United Stats, while the National Anthem will be performed live on the field.
The game will also serve as the Opening Ceremonies for the Millington Little League, where approximately 300 youth baseball players will be recognized on the field.
Howard was a legend in the area for his unrivaled support and sponsorship of area athletic teams, especially baseball. Howard built USA Stadium in Millington, which was the official training site of USA Baseball from 1987 until 1996.
Memphis first started playing the Babe Howard Classic in 2014 after the dedication of the FedExPark indoor training facility in the memory of Howard, the Millington native and mid-south baseball icon.
The Tigers are 2-1 in the Babe Howard Classic, falling 5-3 in the inaugural game to Austin Peay. Memphis has beaten UT Martin in the event the last two seasons.
Memphis will hit the road for its final road series in American Athletic Conference play, at East Carolina. The Tigers sit just ahead of the Pirates in the league standings.
