Final Midweek Contest Tuesday at FedExPark

Memphis hosts Murray State at 6:30 p.m.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis will play its final midweek game of the season, hosting Murray State Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at FedExPark. The Tigers (27-25) are 4-1 against the Racers (25-26) in the last five meetings between the teams dating back to 2010.

The Tigers come into the final week of regular-season play after going 2-2 last week \with a win over UT Martin in the Babe Howard Classic before going 1-2 at East Carolina.
Murray State dropped its series last weekend at Morehead State but won on Sunday to salvage the series. The Racers are averaging nearly eight runs scored a game and the team has a .305 batting average this season. The pitching staff hasn't been as strong though, holding a 6.92 staff ERA and allowing just over seven runs a game.
Tigers senior outfielder Chris Carrier was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after he batted .400 last week with a hit in all four games played. He finished the week with a double, two homers, five RBI and three runs scored. Carrier also had two amazing catches in the outfield and threw out a pair of runners on the bases.
This season Memphis has posted a 7-6 record in midweek games with a pair of marquee wins over nationally-ranked Ole Miss. Last season the Tigers went just 2-12 in midweek contests, dropping games to regional rivals Arkansas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
Memphis will close out the regular season this weekend against Tulane at FedExPark. The series will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday with Senior Day recognition scheduled prior to Saturday's 1 p.m. first pitch. These next four games will be the last at FedExPark for four seniors – Andy Bowman, Chris Carrier, Ryan Garner, Brandon Grudzielanek, Zach Schritenthal and Trent Turner.
