The schedule has adjusted to doubleheader Friday and single game Saturday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team will see its home schedule come to a close this weekend after a three-game conference series against Houston. Memphis is riding on a two-game winning streak after defeating Alcorn State on Tuesday in a doubleheader.

With the weather forecast looking all but desirable on Sunday, the Tigers and the Cougars will now play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. and a single game at 2 p.m. (originally scheduled time) on Saturday. Memphis will recognize its four seniors, Lindsay Crowdus, Hannah Harrell, Calli Irvin, and Lindsey Stickrod, approximately 25 minutes prior to first pitch on Saturday.

Quick Hitters

Memphis is led offensively by Lindsay Crowdus. She leads the nation with a .487 batting average and is one hit shy of the nation's leader with 77.
The 77 hits are by far a program record for hits in a season. She also has a program record 231 career hits for the Tigers.
Against Alcorn State, the Tigers stole a program single-game record 10 bases. Crowdus and Trosclair lead the team with 30 and 29, respectively. Both of those totals exceeded the previous single-season high set last year by Hannah Harrell.
Memphis is 25-23 overall and 4-8 in conference play. There are two more conference series remaining on the schedule and this weekend is the final series at the Tigers Softball Complex.

Records Broken This Season By The Tigers
231 -    With 231 hits, Lindsay Crowdus has become the all-time hits leader at Memphis, surpassing the previous high of 207 set by Leila Dolfo in 2009.
113 -    Memphis is up to 113 stolen bases as a team, which has shattered the previous high of 89 set last season.
77 -      Lindsay Crowdus has recorded 77 hits, which has surpassed the previous high of 63 set in 2006 and 2007 by Cara Stiles and Leila Dolfo.
62 -      Kyler Trosclair now has 62 stolen bases, which is a program record. The previous record was 57 set by Leandra Hines in 2009.
30 -      Is the total number of stolen bases Lindsay Crowdus has had this season, which is the most all-time by a single player in Memphis history.
20 -      Memphis has hit 20 triples as a team this season, which has far exceeded the previous season-high of 11 recorded in 2015.

A Look At The Competition
• Houston owns a 23-21 overall record and 8-4 mark in American Athletic Conference play.
• The Cougars are coming off of a loss to McNeese State where the Cowgirls defeated Houston on a walk-off hit.
• Maya Thomas leads the Cougars offensively with a .436 batting average in 41 games. She has recorded a team-high 51 hits with an on base percentage of .455.
• As a squad, the Cougars are hitting .296 with a .428 slugging percentage backed by 31 home runs.
• Savannah Heebner, a dual threat pitcher with power at the plate as well, is the team's leading hurler with a 2.02 ERA in 125.0 innings pitched. She is also hitting .297 for the Cougars with 33 hits in 11 at bats.
• The Houston staff as a whole owns a 2.66 team ERA with 204 total strikeouts.
• The Cougars are under the direction of first year head coach Kristin Vesely.

Final Details
First pitch against the Cougars in a Friday doubleheader is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Tigers Softball Complex. On Saturday in addition to Senior Day, the Tigers will celebrate Military Appreciation and the first 200 fans will receive a camo drawstring bag.
