Tigers Shoot Season-Low 285 in Final Round of The Maxwell

EDMOND, Okla. - The Memphis Tigers shot a season-low 285 in the final round of The Maxwell, hosted by the University of Oklahoma, placing 12th overall, and was the top team from the American Athletic Conference in the field.
Memphis' 285 was two strokes lower than the previous season-low of 287 set at the Quail Valley Collegiate during the fall season. The 285 gave Memphis a three-round total of 899, just behind 25th-ranked (Golfstat.com) Colorado with an 886. Among the teams Memphis finished ahead of was SMU (902) and East Carolina (913).
Second-ranked Oklahoma State took home the team title, with 48th-ranked New Mexico, 13th-ranked Oklahoma, third-ranked Baylor, and UCLA finished in the top-five in the field.
Over the final round on the 7,102-yard, par-70 Oak Tree Country Club East Course, freshman Colin Dubnik shot a career-low round of 69 (-1), which included three birdies and two bogeys. Sydney Chung shot an even-par 70, while JC Campbell finished one stroke over par. Freshman Nick Giles was the team's fourth scorer on the day with a five-over 75, while Chase Harris carded an 80.
Every team played as their own five-some on the course, and Memphis opened play on the 10th hole. The Tigers got three pars and two bogeys to start, and the team's first birdie of the day came three holes in from Campbell.
Dubnik's first nine holes saw seven pars and two birdies, as he made the turn at two strokes under par. Chung went into the turn one stroke over par with three bogeys and two birdies, as Campbell was also a stroke over par at the turn.
It was the back nine that the Tigers were able to play its strongest, as the team had four birdies, seven bogeys and one double bogey, finishing one stroke over par on the team score.
The Tigers' next action comes on April 22-25 when the team competes at the American Athletic Conference Championships, hosted at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor, Florida.
