Memphis falls to 23-19 on the year heading into a bye weekend
OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Memphis softball team suffered a 4-0 setback to No. 22/25 Ole Miss Wednesday night on the road in Oxford, Miss. The Tigers committed untimely errors that led to all four runs being unearned against the Rebels. Memphis falls to 23-19 on the year.

Three hits for the Tigers loaded the bases in the top of the first inning. Memphis, however, was unable to score as Ole Miss managed to force a foul out and a ground out to third base.

The score remained tied at 0-0 until the bottom of the third inning when the Rebels took advantage of a Memphis error on the leadoff batter. Two more runs crossed the plate in fifth, resulting in what proved to be the final scores of the contest.

Next Up For The Tigers
The Tigers will have the weekend off from action before returning to the diamond next Tuesday on the road against Murray State. - Christian Novak pitched a complete game for Memphis and allowed zero earned runs.
- Tyler Johnson extended her hitting streak to six games with a single in the first inning.

- Bottom 3 – Paige McKinney reached on a fielding error by Tyler Johnson. With two outs and McKinney on second, Kylan Becker singled to centerfield, scoring McKinney. One more run crossed the plate on a triple by Miranda Strother. Both runs were unearned. (2 runs, 2 hits, 1 error, 2 left on base)
- Bottom 5 – A single to left field by Elantra Cox resulted in a run scoring on the leadoff batter due to a throwing error. Another run scored when a runner was on second and Sarah Van Schaik singled up the middle. (2 runs, 2 hits, 1 error, 2 left on base)
