Crowdus Becomes All-Time Hits Leader In Split At Tulsa

Lindsay Crowdus had three hits in game one victory to break the record
TULSA, Okla. – Senior outfielder Lindsay Crowdus became the program's all-time leader in hits Saturday afternoon as the University of Memphis softball team split with Tulsa to end the series. Propelled by Crowdus' 3-for-4 effort in game one, the Tigers shutout the Golden Hurricane 4-0 before falling in the rubber game by a score of 2-1.

Christian Novak pitched in both games for the Tigers, picking up her first complete game shutout of the season in game one. She moves to 6-7 on the year.

The Tigers took the lead in the third from Tulsa and added three more in the fifth to roll to the 4-0 victory. Memphis scattered 12 hits in game one with the top four batters in the line-up contributing 10 of them.

In game two, Tulsa took the lead early in the first inning. Memphis evened up the score in the next half inning, but a solo home run by the Golden Hurricane in the fourth proved to be the difference in the series finale.

- Christian Novak pitched her first complete game shutout this season in the 4-0 win over Tulsa.
- Kyler Trosclair extended her hitting streak to a team-high five games and on base streak to 19.
- Memphis will come into the Tuesday midweek games just three stolen bases shy of breaking the single-season program record of 89 set in 2016.
- The win over Tulsa in game one snapped a 10-game winning streak by the Golden Hurricane. It was also the first loss Tulsa had suffered during conference play this season.

- Bottom 1 – A leadoff double by Julia Hollingsworth resulted in the first run of the day as she scored on a single by Maggie Withee. (1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors, 2 left on base)
- Top 2 – Erin Parker singled to the pitcher and came around to score on a single by Hannah Harrell. (1 run, 2 hits, 1 error, 1 left on base)
- Bottom 4 – A solo home run proved to be the difference in the game. (1 run, 1 hit, 0 errors, 2 left on base)
