Nineteen points each from Taylor Williams and Cheyenne Creighton helped lead the Tigers to a 72-50 victory last Wednesday over East Carolina to improve to 6-6 in conference play. The victory against the Pirates was the fourth-straight at Elma Roane and largest margin of victory this season for Memphis.
Â
East Carolina is one of four teams that Memphis will only play once during the regular season. Cincinnati, however, is not one of those teams as the Tigers first played the Bearcats on January 14.
Â
Cincinnati took game one of the series against the Tigers by a score of 66-59 in Memphis. The game remained relatively close until the Bearcats outscored Memphis by five in the final quarter to come away with the victory. Cheyenne Creighton was one rebound away from a double-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and Brea Elmore led the Tigers with 16 points.
Â
Creighton continues to lead the Tigers in offense with 14.6 points per game and on the glass with 7.4 boards per contest. Brea Elmore adds 13.2 ppg for Memphis while Williams is scoring 11.8 ppg.
Â
In the last six games, Memphis is holding its opponents to just 56.0 points per game and 38.1 percent from the field. Wins in this streak for the Tigers include a home win over No. 20 USF and a road win over the vote-receiving Tulane.
Â
Tigers are coached by Melissa McFerrin who is in her ninth season at the helm of the Memphis program.
Â
A Look At Cincinnati

Â
Shanice Johnson is one of three players averaging in double-figures for Cincinnati, leading with 15.0 points per game. She also is averaging a team-high 9.6 rebounds, just shy of a double-double average. Johnson does it all for the Bearcats as she is the team leader in blocks, steals, and is second in assists.
Â
The Bearcats were picked to finish 10th in the American Athletic Conference and are currently in a tie for fifth with Memphis and UCF. Jamelle Elliott, a UConn graduate, is the head coach of the Bearcats in her eighth season at the helm.Â
