TULSA, Okla. - Memphis and Houston kick off action for the 2016 American Athletic Conference Softball Championships, as the two teams meet up in an 11 a.m. first pitch in the opening game of the tournament.

• Over the past weekend, the Houston Cougars swept Memphis by a combined score of 12-5.

• The team is led by Maya Thomas, who bats .409 with 63 hits in 154 at-bats.
• Outfielder Katie St. Pierre bats .358 with a team-leading 18 stolen bases and 28 walks.
• Courtney Klingler, who hit a walk-off home run against the Tigers in the series finale, leads the team with 13 home runs and 39 RBI's while batting .306.
• Leading the pitching staff has been the trio of Julana Shrum, Savannah Heebner, and Presley Bell.
• Shrum and Heebner each have eight wins, and the trio each have ERA's under 3.75.
