• Freshman Janelle Valle made her first collegiate start on the mound. She struck out five in four and a third innings of work, allowing four runs on four hits.
• Freshman Kailey Kassner made her first collegiate start at first base. She finished 1-for-3, collecting her first collegiate hit in the eighth inning on a single to the left side.
• Sophomore right fielder Leigh Rowan hit the Tigers' first home run of the season, a two-run shot down the left field line in the second inning. She later hit her second two-run home run in the game to the same spot in the eighth inning. Rowan now has three career home runs.
• Freshman Rayna McClinton made her first start as a designated player and recorded her first hit in the fifth inning, an infield single to first base.
• Rayna McClinton also earned her first collegiate victory after switching from DP to pitcher in the fifth inning. McClinton struck out five in three and two-thirds innings and allowed no runs on two hits.
• Junior left fielder Leandra Hines scored the game-winning run after starting the eighth on second with the International Tie-Breaker in effect. Senior center fielder Lindsay Kelso knocked in the game-winning run on a groundout to third.
• The meeting is the first ever between Florida Gulf Coast and Memphis.
