Outlook for 2008: Will spend third Tiger season, once again, somewhere at the top of the rotation. Added strength and weight enabled him to increase velocity. Staying healthy with increased work load is a huge key to successes he'll enjoy in 2008.
2007 (Sophomore): Tigers' No. 1 starter at the outset of the season...Has won 12 games over the past two seasons...Moved to the No. 2 slot and had another successful season...Went 5-4 with a 6.63 ERA in 14 starts for the Tigers...Made one appearance out of the Memphis bullpen...Struck out one and pitched 1.2 scoreless frames to recorded his first and only collegiate save in that outing vs. Indiana (3/3/07)...Tossed his fourth career complete-game in a 4-2 loss vs. No. 2 Rice (5/18/07)...Led the UofM pitching staff pitched in innings for the second straight year with 73.1 innings...Fanned 35 and walked 24...Suffered the toughest outing of his career in the season-opener at Ole Miss (2/20/07)...Surrendered 10 runs and gave up three homers in 1.1 innings in a 12-9 Memphis loss...Posted a 5.63 ERA the remainder of the year...Was effective in 5.1 innings to earn his first win of the year against No. 29 Southern Miss (4/1/07)...Scattered six hits in a masterful seven-inning showing to defeat the 21st-ranked Tulane Green Wave 5-3 (4/7/07)...Fanned six and held UCF to just two runs in a strong seven-inning performance to pick up a 7-3 win over the Knights (5/5/07)...Started in Memphis's first NCAA Regional game in 13 seasons...Gave up five runs on eight hits and struck out a pair in a 10-7 loss to Michigan (6/1/07).
