         Started in all 16 games he appeared in before redshirting the remainder of the season due        to a shoulder injury suffered in the season-opener versus Kansas...Made 13 starts at second        base and three as DH...Hit .297 with 14 runs scored and 11 RBI...Added three doubles, a        tripleand a home run...Lone homer was a ninth-inning, walk-off blast that gave Memphis a        7-6 win over Marshall (3/21/09)...Played in six C-USA contests...Hit .346, slugged .654 and        scored eight runs in league play...Struck out just once in 26 conference at-bats...Posted        seven multi-hit and three multi-RBI performances...Ended the season on a seven-game hit        streak (11-for-31, .354).
2008 (Freshman)

         Was a two-sport star at South-Doyle High School...Earned four letters in baseball for head        coach Robby Howard...Highly decorated player on the baseball diamond...2007: Joined current        Tiger senior Ryan Holland to help guide South-Doyle to a 35-10 record and a runner-up        finish in the Tennessee State baseball tournament...Was a TSWA AAA All-State selection as a        senior...Tied for the state lead with 66 hits in his final high school season...2006: Hit        .375 with 10 doubles, 25 RBI, and had 15 stolen as a junior and helped the Cherokees to a        district title in 2006...Was a member of the 2006 Tennessee Jr. SunBelt Team with Holland        and Adam McClain...2005: Broke through with the Cherokees in 2005 when he hit .432 with two        homers, seven doubles and swiped 26 bases en route to all-district and Team Tennessee        Second Team Prep Xtra honors as a sophomore...Picked up three letters as a shooting guard        on the basketball team and averaged 9.1 points per game and 2.0 assists per contest in his        senior season on the hardwood.
