MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis softball head coach Trena Prater has announced her first transfer signing of 2026 NJCAA Division II Third-Team All-American, Bree Urban, Tuesday afternoon.
"I am super excited for Bree to join our team," said Prater. "I believe that she is the perfect fit for our coaching staff and the roster that I am building. I was very impressed with her athleticism and offensive statistics with a .525 batting average this season. She will bring a big bat to the lineup, depth to the infield and a competitive mindset."
Urban, an Omaha, Nebraska native, led State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota in batting average, hits, RBI, doubles, home runs, slugging percentage and on-base percentage in her lone season. She carried a .525 batting average, logging 104 hits with 38 going for extra bases. Her 22 doubles were tied for the 18th-most at the NJCAA DII level, with her 15 home runs ranking 39th at her competing level.
Urban's 1.428 OPS helped lead the Manatees to an eighth-place finish in the 2026 NJCAA Division II World Series, with Urban collecting 10 hits over four games played in the tournament. In her 2026 campaign, Urban set the Manatees' single-season home run and RBI records, culminating in her being named to the All-FCSAA First Team.
Urban spent two seasons (2024-25) at Omaha, appearing in four games and utilizing a redshirt in 2024.
