T&F Meet Nine: Joey Haines Invite

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Memphis track and field will travel to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for the Joey Haines Invite on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4.
This two-day meet will be at the Abe Stuber Track & Field Complex with Southeast Missouri State as the host institution. A link to the schedule and live results can be found above.
The hammer throw will be the only event on Friday with the women starting at 3:00 p.m. and the men to follow. The 3,000-meter steeplechase will kickoff the track events at noon on Saturday while the shot put will start the field events at 11:00 a.m.
Judy Elful broke the 400-meter hurdles record at the Bulldog Relays last weekend with a time of 57.20 for the only victory for the Tigers at the meet.
The men and women 4x400-meter relay teams continue to post strong times with both teams finishingsecond last weekend. The team of Kaseiana Meriweather, Alex Allen, Rickaiya Whitman and Dejona Simpson put up a time of 3:46.01 for the women. The men's team, consisting of Bryson Wilson, Jacari Simpson, Kouto Anyika and Courtland Noble, recorded a time of 3:11.30.
The javelin throwers, Marek Waltke and Isabelle Cruickshank, continue to shine with third-place finishes. Waltke threw a personal-best at 69.23 meters while Cruickshank threw 48.36 meters.
