T&F Meet Six: American Conference Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.– Memphis track and field travels to Birmingham, Alabama, for the American Conference Indoor Championships on Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28.
This two-day meet will take place at the Birmingham Crossplex. Both days of the competition will be broadcast on ESPN+. Live results, streaming links and a full event schedule are available via the links above.
Field events kick off Friday at noon with the men's pole vault, followed by track prelims starting with the mile at 1:05 p.m. Saturday's competition opens with the women's high jump at 10:30 a.m., while track finals begin at 12:05 p.m. with the women's mile.
The Tigers enter the championships following a dominant showing at the Redhawks Open. Poorna Raorane secured her third shot put victory of the season last weekend with a 14.92-meter toss. Meghan Porterfield also enters the postseason with momentum after recording two top-five finishes, including a career-best 17.85-meter mark in the weight throw to place second and a 13.11-meter throw in the shot put to finish third.
Memphis brought home seven victories last time out in Birmingham at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational and UAB Invite. The Tigers also secured 36 top-five finishes and 20 personal-bests during the two meets.
Raorane was victorious once again winning the shot put with a throw of 15.16-meters while Jazmyn James threw 16.04-meters to bring home a victory the next day. Natalie Albert threw 18.34-meters in the weight throw to take first place.
On the men's side, Oageng Mdlela helped the Tigers with another victory at the triple jump at 15.41-meters. Robert Randall won the 5,000-meter race in a then-personal-best 14:45.60. Additionally, the quartet of Jacari Simpson, Bryson Wilson, Kouto Anyika and Courtland Noble took first in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:13.73.
