Memphis Throttles Florida Atlantic, 92-65
Jan 29, 2026 | Men's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis wasted little time reminding everyone what it looks like when the pieces click.
The Tigers turned in one of their most complete performances of the season Thursday night, overwhelming Florida Atlantic 92-65 at FedExForum to improve to 10-10 overall and 5-3 in American Conference play. FAU fell to 14-8 and 6-3.
It's the 18th-straight win at home for the Tigers against an American Conference opponent, dating back to Jan. 2023.
Less than 72 hours after returning from a difficult road swing, Memphis flipped the script at home, controlling the game from start to finish and leading for 38 of the 40 minutes. The Tigers' balance, shot-making and defensive pressure proved too much for an FAU team that never found a rhythm.
A pivotal 26-minute stretch spanning the final 10 minutes of the first half and the opening portion of the second swung the game decisively. During that run, Memphis shot a blistering 66 percent from the field (27-of-41), including stretches of 9-of-11 and 8-of-10 shooting, turning a modest halftime lead into a runaway.
Memphis entered the break up 41-33 after shooting 50 percent in the opening half. The Tigers scored 22 points in the paint, went a perfect 6-of-6 at the free-throw line and capitalized on 10 FAU turnovers for 10 points before halftime.
Aaron Bradshaw led the Tigers at the half with 11 points, nine of them unassisted, while Dug McDaniel added 10 and Sincere Parker delivered seven straight during a key first-half stretch. Quante Berry closed the half with back-to-back jumpers to keep momentum firmly with Memphis.
The second half belonged entirely to the Tigers.
Memphis outscored FAU 51-32 after the break, forcing 14 of the Owls' 24 turnovers in the final 20 minutes and holding them to just six made field goals on 24 percent shooting (6-of-25). The Tigers pushed the lead as high as 30 late in the game.
McDaniel finished with a game-high 23 points on 11-of-19 shooting to go with six assists. Parker followed with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, while Bradshaw added 15 points on 4-of-5 from the floor and a perfect 6-of-6 at the free-throw line. Tariq Ingraham provided a spark off the bench with nine points.
It's the first time this season the Tigers have had two players reach 20 points in the same game and the 34th time overall under head coach Penny Hardaway.
The trio of McDaniel, Parker and Bradshaw combined for 59 points on 23-of-36 shooting, along with 11 rebounds and 10 assists, marking the first time this season Memphis produced multiple 20-point scorers.
Memphis shot 50.7 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from three-point range, while setting season highs in points in the paint (50) and bench points (42). The Tigers also forced 24 turnovers, converting them into 27 points, and recorded 14 steals - their second-highest total of the season.
A late three-pointer from Mason Matthews pushed the margin to 89-59 with just over four minutes remaining, putting the finishing touches on a decisive home victory.
Josiah Parker paced Florida Atlantic with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Isaiah Elohim added 17 points and six rebounds, followed by 14 points from Amar Amkou.
