MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis men's golf student-athletes Diego Lourenco and Yixiang Wang have been named to the American's All-Conference Team, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Lourenco, a sophomore from Orleans, France, had another notable season with the Tigers after playing in all 11 tournaments for the Tigers while taking the individual crown at the Memphis Intercollegiate: Spirited by Old Dominick. Lourenco also brought home a share of fourth place at the Everett Buick GMC Classic back in October when he shot 207 for the tournament and tied his best 18-hole round score in the third round.
This is the first all-conference nod for Lourenco.
Wang, a sophomore out of Dalian, China, competed in all 11 tournaments for Memphis while also playing in the Thunderbolt Invitational over the winter break. Finishing in the top 10 three times and in the top 20 seven times this year, Wang shot a career-best, 66, during the second round of the GMAC Invitational in September while bringing home a share of fourth place – his best to date.
This is the first all-conference nod for Wang.
