MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis outfielder Cade Greer was named to the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Greer, a junior from Lewisburg, Mississippi, hit safely from the lead-off spot in the Tiger lineup in all three games over the weekend to help Memphis earn an AAC series win at Florida Atlantic. He scored six runs during the series to earn a share of the conference lead in that category for the week.
In Sunday's 5-4 win, Greer hit a solo home run to the opposite field that would prove to be the eventual winning run, ending the game with an RBI and two runs scored. He turned in a 2-for-4 performance at the plate in Saturday's 8-7 win over the Owls and scored three runs. Greer also doubled in Friday night's 2-1 defeat.
For the week, Greer hit .364, slugged .727 and got on base at a .563 clip due being plunked three times and walking twice to go along with his four hits. He homered, doubled, drove in a run and stole a base while also recording an outfield assist on a double play Friday night.
The Tigers are back in action Tuesday night in Conway, Arkansas. First pitch vs. Central Arkansas is scheduled for 6 p.m.
