MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis (15-21, 4-8 AAC) softball fell in the final game of its series against UAB (15-19, 5-7 AAC) by a score of 8-4 Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After two quick outs in the top of the first inning, the game entered a 21-minute weather delay.
Hope Tucker singled through the left side just after the game resumed, driving in Hannah Miles for UAB's first run of the game.
AJ Kramer recorded a two-RBI double in the same inning to give the Blazers a three-run lead in the opening frame.
Beginning in the bottom of the first, neither side scored a run until the top of the sixth inning.
- UAB pitcher Caroline McLendon carried a perfect game through five innings.
The Blazers added two runs on a Hope Tucker single that landed just beyond the reach of Kayla Clement.
Shelby Durbin broke up the perfect game in the bottom of the sixth inning by reaching on an error.
- The following at-bats loaded the bases when Kayla Clement reached on an error and Neely Taylor drew a walk.
With the bases loaded, Ariel Davis simultaneously broke up the no-hit and shutout bids with a bases-clearing triple to make it a two-run game.
- The triple was Davis's second of the series.
The Blazers added two runs in the seventh inning on a triple by Bella Wiggins, her second extra-base hit of the series.
- Wiggins later scored on a wild pitch to give UAB a five-run lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning.
With two outs in the frame, Zoe Adebayo hit a deep shot to left field for a solo home run.
- It was Adebayo's first home run since March 5 at Central Arkansas.
- The following batter struck out to end the game.

NOTABLES

Lyrical Bennett moves to 4-4 after taking the loss in the series finale.
Memphis' two hits were the second least in a game this season, having previously only recorded one hit against SEMO.
After 36 games, Memphis is currently outscoring its opponents 204-to-203.
- Memphis has recorded 165 RBI this season, a mark that is identical to its opponents' total in all competitions.
Neely Taylor finished with one walk and one run scored in her 36th start of the season.
- She currently leads Memphis with a .352 batting average.
Ariel Davis recorded Memphis' first hit with her second triple of the weekend.
- Davis finished the week with seven hits, one double, two triples, four runs scored and seven RBI, along with a stolen base.
Zoe Adebayo's home run snapped a six-game hitless streak.
- It was her team-leading sixth home run of the season.
