Tigers to Host Florida Atlantic before Traveling to Temple

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis (10-13, 1-7 American) closes its four game homestand with Florida Atlantic on Friday at 7 p.m. before heading to Philadelphia, Pa. to face Temple at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday. Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
The Tigers enter the weekend after dropping two conference matches to Tulsa and North Texas. Zaniah Hoskins led the offense with 42 kills and 50.5 points, bringing her season totals to 212 kills and 255.5 points.
Setters Maddy Bach and Sydney Marshall combined for 73 assists, highlighted by a 41-assist performance against Tulsa. Bach now has 539 assists on the season, ranking fifth in the conference and averaging 6.91 assists per set. Marshall follows with 246 assists, averaging 4.47 per set.
Junior libero Abigail Schlueter added four service aces over the weekend, giving her 28 on the season and 99 for her career. Schlueter ranks second in the American in service aces and fourth in digs with 281.
Junior outside hitter Génesis Rodriguez turned in an impressive showing with 13 kills and 16 points, including a season-high nine kills and 10 points against Tulsa. She also posted a season-high three blocks against North Texas.
SCOUTING THE FLORIDA ATLANTIC OWLS
Florida Atlantic (14-7, 5-3 American) enters the weekend following a win over Temple and a loss to Charlotte.
The Owls rank among the top three in several categories in the American, sitting second in kills per set (13.75) and third both in assists per set (12.71) and blocks per set (2.29).
Oliva Hart paced the FAU offense with back-to-back double-digit kill performances, totaling 27 kills and averaging 3.39 kills per set. Hart has 275 kills on the season, averaging 3.67 per set, sixth-best in the conference, and ranks fourth in total kills.
Defensively, Isabelle Northam recorded 28 digs last weekend, bringing her season total to 312, which ranks second in the conference. Emsley Venard notched 51 assists (6.38 per set), including back-to-back 20-assist performances, while Victoria Hensley dished out 50 assists highlighted by a 36-assist effort against Charlotte.

Temple (11-11, 1-7 American) enters the weekend after dropping both conference matches to South Florida and Florida Atlantic. The Owls will host UAB on Friday before welcoming the Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
Temple ranks eighth in the American in kills per set (12.79) but sits fourth in digs per set (15.95).
Christiana Greene led the offense last weekend with 27 kills and 28 points, while Lela Harper followed with 22 kills and 24.5 points. Harper has 248 kills on the season, averaging 3.14 per set.
Setter Lexi Yoza posted 30 assists and 14 digs over the weekend, bringing her season totals to 408 assists and 189 digs.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST FAU AND TEMPLE
Friday marks the fifth all-time meeting between Memphis and Florida Atlantic. The Owls have won the last three matchups. This will be the first meeting played in Memphis, as the previous contests were held in Boca Raton, Fla. and Greensboro, N.C.
Sunday will mark the 21st meeting between Memphis and Temple. The Tigers have won the last three in the series. This is Memphis' first trip to Philadelphia since 2022, when the Tigers defeated the Owls in five sets.
