No. 19 Memphis Takes Win Streak Into Thursday's Battle at Tulane
Jan 29, 2025 | Men's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 19 Memphis Tigers return to the road with a trip to the Big Easy and a matchup with Tulane on Thursday. The Tigers (16-4, 6-1) and the Green Wave (11-9, 5-2) are scheduled for an 8 p.m. jump on ESPN2.
The Tigers have won seven of their last eight games, including a three-game win streak, and climbed five spots in the Associated Press poll this week, but they must now carry that momentum into Avron B. Fogelman Arena on Thursday, a place that has sent Memphis home with a loss in three-straight seasons. The Tigers last win in New Orleans was Dec. 16, 2020.
Memphis enters the matchup fresh off perhaps its best and most compete performance of the season on Sunday, with a 100-77 drubbing of UAB inside FedExForum.
The Tigers shot a season-high 62.3 percent from the floor and put five players in double figures. PJ Haggerty led the group with 23 points, a career high-tying nine assists and three steals, while Dain Dainja dropped a season-high 21 points and eight boards in his first start since Nov. 15.
