Tigers Take Down Tar Heels, Advance to ITA Kickoff Event Finals

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Memphis Tiger men's tennis team dominated against North Carolina in the opening round of the ITA Kickoff Event with a 4-1 final score. The Tigers will play tomorrow against the winner of Wake Forest and Charlotte.

In doubles competition, Memphis swept the Tar Heels for the point; Conor Gannon and Sam Reeve continue their domination after a 6-1 victory over Nick Mangiapane and Logan Zapp while Michael Kouame and Pablo Alemany took a 6-3 win in their match.

On the individual side, Alejandro Vizoso picked up his first win of the season with a 6-1, 6-4 decision while Kouame and Reeve got wins over No. 80 Chris Xu and No. 68 Anthony Wright, respectively.
