Tigers Move Up to Fourth Place, Three Tigers Sit in Top Ten After Round Two of GMAC Invitational

ONEONTA, Ala. – The University of Memphis men's golf team got a strong showing from its crew during the second round of the GMAC Invitational with three Tigers sitting in the top 10 for individuals while Memphis moved up to fourth place.
"We found some momentum today, after having none yesterday," head men's golf coach Blake Smart said. "The guys have done a really good job of staying patient and staying in the rounds. I'm looking forward to continuing to build experience tomorrow."
Yixiang Wang continues to hold on to a share of first place after he knocked in four birdies, as well as an eagle on hole two. Wang's round score of 66 set a new 18-hole low for his career.
Along with Wang, Andrew Baucum, playing as an individual, goes into tomorrow's final round in a tie for eighth place after he shot a 68 today to put him at seven under par for the tournament. Jackson McCommon is right behind him in a three-way tie for tenth place after he shot a career-best 67.
Heading into the final round on Tuesday, Diego Lourenco (-1) is tied for 29th, Kaiser Godinez (+4) is tied for 52nd and Cian O'Connor (+5) is in a tie for 57th place.
