Wang In First Place, Tigers in Seventh After Round One of GMAC Invitational

ONEONTA, Ala. – After one round of play in the annual GMAC Invitational hosted by UAB, University of Memphis men's golf currently sits in seventh place while Yixiang Wang holds on to first place in the individual competition.
Wang, a sophomore out of Dalian, China, shot a career-best 18-hole round today with a 67 following six birdies. Despite a bogey on hole four, Wang would go two under par on the front nine and three under on the back part of the course.
Playing as an individual, Andrew Baucum is not far behind his teammate at three under par following today's round after a 69 round score puts him in a seven-way tie for 10th place. Jackson McCommon also came out of today's round under par with a round score of 71 while Diego Lourenco shot even at 72.
Memphis will tee off tomorrow for round two ranging from 9:30 – 10:36 a.m. Live results can be found HERE.
