Brackets Set for Final Day of Louisville Invitational

LOUISVILLE, KY. – The No. 27 University of Memphis men's tennis team continued play at the Louisville Invitational today where two individual Tigers will play each other tomorrow for third place.
Starting things off for the Tigers today, Michael Kouame battled with Piet Steveker of Louisville in the Flight A semifinals, eventually falling 6-3, 4-6 [7-10]. Kouame moved on to easily down Notre Dame's Kyran Magimay 6-3, 6-3 and will play for the North draw final tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. CT.
Sam Reeve and Luis Sandoval Carvalho had an interesting end to their day; after Reeve took a 4-6, 6-3 [10-5] while over Brian Bilsey of Notre Dame and fell to Bilsey's teammate, Jayanth Devaiah, in the semifinals, Reeve will now play for Flight B third place tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. CT.
Similarly, Sandoval Carvalho marked a 3-6, 6-4 [10-5] victory over Notre Dame's Noah Becker before falling in straight sets to Miguel Avendano Cadena of Louisville. Sandoval Carvalho will now play against Reeve for third place.
In doubles action, Reeve and Mortiz Kudernatsch suffered 8-6 losses to Louisville's Steveker and Enrique Pena and Kentucky's Martin Breysach and Eric Crivei. Reeve and Kundernatsch will compete in the South draw final on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. against Fernando Bulnes Garrorena and Mario Martin of Eastern Kentucky.
After dropping their first match of the day to Notre Dame's Jayanth Devaiah and Luis Llorens Saracho, Kouame and Sandoval Carvalho came back with an 8-4 victory over Eastern Kentucky's duo of Ryan Kitchin and Adrian Contreas. They will play for the West final on Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
