MURRAY, Ky. – The No. 12-ranked University of Memphis rifle team fell on the road to No. T-9 Murray State on Saturday, 4714-4683. The Racers (5-3) beat the Tigers (4-6) in smallbore, 2335-2314, and in air rifle, 2379-2369.

"Today was a hard fight and I'm proud of the way the team handled itself during the match," head coach Morgan Phillips said. "Everyone learned a lot and saw some improvement over the course of their matches. Tanner's slings today were a big highlight and it's great to see his growth. We will definitely take what we learned today into our match tomorrow against UT Martin and strive for a solid performance as our season wraps up."

KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Gabriela Zych led the way for Memphis on the day, placing fourth individual with an aggregate score of 1178. Zych was the top Tiger in both smallbore (583), taking fifth, and in air rifle (595), taking fourth.
• Angeline Henry was eighth overall as an individual with an aggregate total of 1167. Henry shot scores of 578 in smallbore and 589 in air rifle.
• Freshman Kenlee Ewton took ninth place overall with an aggregate of 1166, shooting totals of 582 in smallbore and 584 in air rifle.
