R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range
In January 2017, the University of Memphis rifle program moved back to campus after practicing and competing at different sites around the Bluff City for nearly 20 years. The Tigers’ new den is located in South Hall (3825 Southern Avenue) on the University of Memphis’ main campus.
Two years later (April 2019), the facility’s official ribbon-cutting was held, and the Tigers' new home was named the R.F. Fogelman Family Rifle Range. The facility is marked by signage above the range’s main entrance.
The Tigers' new residence provides a state-of-the-art facility and range for student-athletes to practice and compete in both air rifle and smallbore disciplines. The site has a 10-point range with electronic target systems, live video streaming and scoring results projected within the range. For the program’s student-athletes, the space features a team meeting room, secure equipment storage and men's and women's locker rooms.
The area has a beautiful trophy case that displays the rich, decorated history of the Tigers program and a charming courtyard where the team can hold team meals and special events or just relax when the Bluff City weather is great. In addition, there is space for spectators to watch practice and competitions via video streaming and live scoring.
The R.F. Fogelman Family Rifle Range brought the rifle program back to campus in the winter of 2017. Although still under construction at that time, the Tigers hosted three home matches in their new home in late January-early February 2017.
