Memphis Baseball Announces Eight Signees for 2023 Class

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis baseball has inked eight student-athletes for its 2023 class, head coach Matt Riser announced Friday.
The eight student-athletes hale from eight different states. Among the eight signees are a shortstop, a pair of utility players and outfielders, two left-handed pitchers and two right-handed pitchers.
2023 Memphis Baseball Signees:
Michael Bright – SS / (R/R) / Lithia Springs, Ga. / New Manchester HS
· Ranked No. 28 SS in the state of Georgia by Perfect Game, and No. 152 player overall in the state.
Brandon Chorzelewski – LHP / (L/L) / Cherry Hill, N.J. / Seton Hall / South Florida State
· Ranked as 2021's No. 15 LHP in the state of New Jersey and a top-100 overall player in the state.
Seth Cox – UTL / (R/R) / McKinney, Texas / Northeast Texas CC
· Ranked 2021's No. 5 1B in the state of Texas by Perfect Game, and No. 71 player overall in the state.
· Hit .342 with six HR, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored and seven steals for Northeast Texas CC in 2022.
· Made six appearances on the mound, starting two games, and struck out 10 batters in 10 innings.
Malik Harris – UTL / (R/R) / Draper, Utah / Juan Diego Catholic HS
· Ranked 2023's No. 6 RHP in the state of Utah by Perfect Game, and No. 14 player overall in the state.
William Howell – RHP / (R/R) / Pine Bluff, Ark. / Pine Bluff HS
· Ranked No. 8 RHP and No. 23 overall player in the state of Arkansas.
Ryan Hunter – OF/LHP / (L/L) / Miramar, Fla. / Archbishop McCarthy HS
· Received an 8.5 grading by Perfect Game… Scored 11 runs and drove in eight for Archbishop McCarthy High School his senior season.
· Cousin to former NBA superstar Tracy McGrady.
Brayden Sanders – RHP / (L/R) / Olive Branch, Miss. / Lewisburg HS / Ole Miss / NW Mississippi CC
· Ranked No. 4 RHP and No. 10 overall player in Mississippi coming out of high school in 2020 by Perfect Game.
· Ranked as the No. 9 overall JUCO prospect by Perfect Game in the Deep South Region for 2022.
Pierre Seals – OF / (R/R) / Memphis, Tenn. / Houston HS / Dyersburg State CC
· Ranked as No. 5 OF and No. 27 overall prospect in the state of Tennessee in 2021.
· Batted .294 with 8 HR, 36 RBI, 31 R and 7 SB in 44 games as a freshman at Dyersburg State CC.
