Simpson, Lenton Punch Tickets to NCAA Outdoor Championships
May 27, 2023 | Men's Track and Field, Women's Track and Field
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Memphis Tiger men's and women's track and field team had a strong showing at the NCAA East Regional over the past four days where two athletes, Amber Simpson and Samantha Lenton, punched their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
"Amber and Sam both did an incredible job this weekend," head track & field coach Kevin Robinson said. "Going into this meet, I had no doubt of their capabilities. What we stressed was more in regards to composure and trust; being competitively composed, and still performing at a really high level is what this meet is really all about. Both executed very well, both rose up to the occasion and refused to let the stress and nerves dictate their performances. This has been a long and challenging road for both, and I am immensely proud of each."
