MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis baseball team is back home and set to host its sold-out 901 Game against defending national champion Ole Miss at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field on Tuesday, April 4 at 6 p.m.
The Tigers (16-13) won a mid-week game at FedExPark on Tuesday (March 28), defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 9-5, and opened American Athletic Conference play over the weekend at Tulane where they fell in Sunday's extra-inning rubber match, 6-5.
"I'm looking forward to a very competitive, energy-filled atmosphere tomorrow night," head coach Kerrick Jackson said. "This should be a very competitive series for many years to come."
The Rebels (16-11) enter the matchup after dropping a series two games to one over the weekend at Texas A&M. Offensively, Ole Miss is led by Calvin Harris (.364 BA, 4 HR, 7 2B, 23 RBI) and Kemp Alderman (.349 BA, 11 HR, 39 RBI). The Rebels probable starter is right-hander Grayson Saunier (1-2, 7.77 ERA).
Ole Miss leads the all-time series with Memphis, 63-39, with the Tigers' last wins coming in 2017. Memphis swept the Rebels that season, who were ranked No. 8 and No. 11 in those contests.
First baseman Anthony Hansen has hit safely in 23-of-27 games this season and carries a team-high .330 average to go with a team-leading seven home runs and .445 on-base percentage. Austin Baskin is tied with Hansen for the team lead in hits (35) and is batting .318 with a team-best eight doubles on the year, slugging four homeruns and knocking in 17 runs. In addition, Baskin has tallied a team-best 12 multi-hit games this season.
Tomorrow's game is sold out, but kids ages 12 and under get in free all season long. The first 200 Memphis students will get in free to tomorrow's game.
Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Tickets can be downloaded on the Memphis Tigers App and we strongly encourage fans to download prior to arriving at the park.
Half-season ticket packages are available at GoTigersGo.com for all games beginning in April, and single-game tickets are available here.
