MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis baseball left-handed pitcher Dalton Kendrick and third baseman Logan Kohler were selected to the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Weekly Honor Roll for their performances during the Tigers' three-win week, the conference announced Monday.
This marks the second time this season that Kendrick has landed on the Honor Roll after being selected back on March 6. Kohler is the fifth Tiger to be honored this season, joining Kendrick, Brayland Skinner, Anthony Hansen and JT Durham. It is the second-career honor for Kohler, who was named to the Honor Roll on March 14, 2022.
Kendrick picked up three saves on the week to bring his season total to six, which leads the AAC. His first of the week came at UA-little Rock (March 14) when he entered with one out and the bases loaded and racked up a pair of strikeouts to get Memphis out of the jam before finishing the game in the ninth. The 6-foot-5 lefty then picked up saves in each of Memphis' wins (March 17, 19) at Southeastern Louisiana to help the Tigers win the series.
Kohler went 7-for-16 (.438) at the plate over the week and raised his season batting average 30 points to .338. On the week, he drove in six runs, scored three of his own and slugged a game-tying, sixth-inning homerun against SLU on Friday night before driving in the winning run on a sac-fly in the seventh inning.
The Tigers play double mid-week games this week at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field on Tuesday night (6 p.m.) against UA-Little Rock, who the Tigers defeated 3-2 last Tuesday in Little Rock, and then against Central Arkansas on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
