MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Head Memphis Tiger softball coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro has added two more additions to her 2024 roster in Marley Maness and Aubrey Williams.

Maness, a 5-10 utility player out of Lexington, Tenn., comes to Memphis after a success prep career at Lexington High School where she has a batting average of .451 with 14 homeruns and a .857 slugging percentage. She helped the Tigers to a 49-1 overall record where they were Tennessee State Champions during the 2022 season.

"Marley comes from a family of former Memphis Tiger student-athletes and she loves Memphis," said VanBrakle Prothro. "She will be a great addition to our team, and I am excited for her to join us."

Maness, an All-District selection, is the daughter of Mark Maness and Lori Durham Maness, both of which were Tiger athletes. Mark was a member of the men's golf team from 1989-1993 while Lori was on the track & field team from 1992-1995.

Williams, a 6-0 infielder from Iuka, Miss., comes to Memphis after being named to the All-County and All-District teams while being named as the All-District Shortstop. This past season, Williams led Lewisburg High School with a .400 batting average, a .585 on-base percentage and five homeruns.

"Aubrey will bring a lot of natural athleticism to our team and will help round out our infield while bringing some depth. I am excited about her joining the Memphis Softball family,' said VanBrakle Prothro.
