Men’s Golf Begins Spring at the Battle at Briar’s Creek

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team will begin the spring portion of the 2022-23 schedule at the Battle at Briar's Creek beginning on Monday, Feb. 6 in Johns Island, S.C. The two-day tournament runs through Tuesday, Feb. 7 with live results available at GoTigersGo.com.
"It feels good to be back on the road and kicking off a busy spring season," head coach Blake Smart said. "We had a productive offseason and now it's time to see where we stand."
The 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,175-yard Golf Club at Briar's Creek. Teams will play the first two rounds on Monday with a shotgun start at 7 p.m. CT. On Tuesday, the third and final round will begin with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. CT.
The 11-team field includes Memphis, College of Charleston, Virginia Tech, Elon, UNCW, Boston College, Augusta, Wake Forest, Lipscomb, Campbell and Kentucky.
Last time out, junior Esteban Vazquez helped the Tigers tie for fourth place as a team at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate in Charleston, S.C., tying for sixth place with a total of 220 (+4). His finish was a season-best and marked his second top-10 of the year.
