Tigers Set for Opening Weekend at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field
Feb 16, 2023 | Baseball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis baseball team is set for opening weekend at the newly renovated FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field under first-year head coach Kerrick Jackson. The Tigers are slated for a three-game series against Samford on Friday (2 p.m.), Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.).
Friday afternoon's opening day game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and live stats for all three games can be found at GoTigersGo.com.
"I'm excited for our guys," Jackson said. "We had a long fall and a long spring leading up to this point, but it has gotten here as fast as I told them it would get here. I'm really excited for them to go out and have some new energy and try to get this new culture in place. I'm excited to see them get out there with the new field and all these new additions we have going on."
Samford is coming off a 28-29 season a year ago where they went 12-9 in Southern Conference play in its first season under head coach Tony David. In 2021, Samford was SoCon regular-season and tournament champions.
All fans will receive free admission to Tiger home games in Feb. and March, and kids ages 12 and under get in free all season long. Half-season ticket packages are available at GoTigersGo.com for all games beginning in April.
