Tigers Close out Fall Season with Big Weekend at Bonita Bay Classic

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - With the completion of the Bonita Bay Classic over the weekend, Memphis women's tennis wrapped up its fall season as the Tigers claimed 16 total victories over three days against Notre Dame, Purdue and Florida Gulf Coast in Bonita Springs.

The highlight of the weekend came on Saturday when the Tigers defeated No. 27 Notre Dame, 5-2.

Leonie Moeller and Monique Woog led the squad with 4-2 records across doubles and singles action.

Three other Tigers picked up three wins each, including Micah Pierce who went 3-0 in singles play. Emily Meyer and Camila Soares also earned three victories.

"This tournament is the highlight of our fall," head coach Hayde Perez said. "The hosts and hospitality by the Bonita Bay Club and its members are first class all the way.

The girls competed well overall, but at the same time I feel we identified some things we need to work on individually and as a team. We will take a little time off, but I am already wanting to get to work, we have work to do."
