Tigers Take Doubles Point, Fall 4-2 to No. 59 Denver

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 59 Denver on Wednesday afternoon at Leftwich Tennis Center.
Memphis came out strong in doubles play, securing the opening point with wins on courts one and three. The pairing of Sofiia Mykhailets/Emma Dvorackova earned a 6-3 victory on court one, while Alicia Mall/Rebecca Frant matched that score with a win on court three. The match on court two featuring Natalia Koppova/Clemence Thouard was left unfinished at 4-4.
In singles, the Tigers picked up a point from the top of the lineup as Sofiia Mykhailets continued her strong play with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Louise Wikander on court one.
Denver responded by winning four singles matches to clinch the team victory. The Pioneers earned straight-set wins on courts two, three and six before sealing the match on court four in a tight two-set contest. The match on court five featuring Rebecca Frant was left unfinished in the third set.
Memphis falls to 2-13 and will be back in action on Saturday, March 28 against Xavier. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at Leftwich Tennis Center. Admission to the match is free.
